Privacy Policy

Calyx is a founder-led business run by Christian Sunario. We are based in Singapore and build for Indonesian businesses. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Calyx.

This policy explains what happens to information about you when you visit calyx.co.id, in English or Indonesian, and when you message us from it. It does not cover the Calyx products you sign in to, such as Calyx Core, or the work we do for clients.

The site is written for business owners and is not directed at children.

There are no forms on this site and no accounts. We never ask you to type in your name, email address or phone number. Pages, images and the typeface are all served from this site, and no advertising or social media code runs on it.

What the site does collect comes from the four sources below.

Visit counts

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are read and how people find them. For each page view it records the page address, the page you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), your browser, operating system and type of device, and the time. When you tap a WhatsApp button, it also records which offering the button was about and the language of the page.

It uses no cookies. Vercel tells one visit from another with a code calculated from your request, which it discards after 24 hours, and it does not link visits to your IP address. We see only totals, never individual visitors.

Page speed

We use Vercel Speed Insights to check that pages load quickly. On each page load it measures loading speed and records the page address, your browser, operating system, type of device, connection speed and country. It uses no cookies and is not tied to you or your IP address.

Your language

If you switch between English and Indonesian, the site stores a small cookie called “NEXT_LOCALE” in your browser. It holds only “en” or “id”, lasts one year, and is read only by this site, so the site opens in your language next time. It is not used for tracking. You can delete it in your browser settings at any time.

When you arrive without a language in the address, the site picks one from the country your connection comes from, which our hosting provider works out from your IP address, and from your browser’s language setting. This is used for that one choice and is not stored by us.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel’s systems record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, the page requested, your browser and the time, to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. These logs are kept for a limited period under Vercel’s privacy policy. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Every WhatsApp button and link on this site opens WhatsApp with a short message already written, such as “Hi Calyx, I’d like to talk about my business.” Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp, and you can change the message first.

Once you message us, WhatsApp, a service of Meta, carries the conversation under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive what WhatsApp shows any contact: your phone number, your profile name and photo depending on your WhatsApp settings, and what you write or send.

Christian reads and answers these messages himself, from Singapore. We use what you send to reply, to understand what you need and, if you become a client, to work with you. We do not sell it or add you to a marketing list.

Visit counts and page speed

To understand which pages help visitors and to keep the site fast. This uses data that does not identify you, and rests on our legitimate interest in running a useful website.

To show you the site you asked for, in your language, and to keep it secure.

WhatsApp messages

You start the conversation. We use it to answer you and to take the steps you ask for before any agreement.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Two other companies are involved: Vercel, which hosts the site and runs the visit counts and page speed measurements for us, and WhatsApp, a service of Meta, which carries your messages under its own terms. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.

We may also share information when the law requires it, for example at the lawful request of a public authority.

These services run on servers in several countries, so information may be processed outside Indonesia, for example in the United States and in Singapore, where we are based. For these transfers we rely on the safeguards each provider applies.

Visit counts

The code that tells visits apart is discarded after 24 hours. Totals are kept by Vercel for the reporting period of our plan.

WhatsApp messages

As long as we need them for the reason you wrote, and longer only where the law requires. You can ask us to delete them.

If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top when the change takes effect.

Indonesia’s Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (UU PDP) gives you the right to:

• know who is processing your data, why, and on what basis
• see the data we hold about you and get a copy of it
• have it corrected or completed
• have it deleted, or ask us to stop or pause using it
• withdraw any consent you have given
• object to decisions made about you only by automated means
• receive your data in a commonly used format, or have it sent to another organisation, where the law allows
• take legal action and receive compensation if your data is processed unlawfully

Because Calyx is based in Singapore, Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) may also apply. It gives you the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected, and to withdraw consent.

Most of what this site records cannot be linked to you, so for visit counts and page speed there is often nothing we can find. Your WhatsApp conversation with us is the information we can act on.
